Resident evil, 2, 3, remake and 0 all use pre-rendered backgrounds, or pictures. the only thing that's actually 3-dimensional are models, such as characters, weapons, enemies, et cetera. first-person view was possible in code veronica because the backgrounds were 3-dimensional as well, instead of using pre-rendered backgrounds..
