Volte has been in the pipeline for quite sometime. verizon now supports volte on all iphone 6 and 6+ (and we’re hoping more carriers join this club).. I just bought a sim-free iphone 6 and checked it out with both my at&t and verizon sims, both of which are volte-capable in chicago. by default, neither of them seemed to work with volte, even with voice & data selected in the lte settings.. Iphone 6 users with t-mobile contracts can enjoy the simple, one-step activation of hd voice (there are lots of limitations, see below). not the case when you’re under contract with verizon..
